No chemicals are used to attract and kill the insects. Once the lamp is plugged in, it is ready for use. The 9-watt lamps emit UVA light that is harmless to humans and animals. The electrically charged grid is protected by a fully insulated plastic housing, preventing accidental contact.

The mosquito lamp should only be used indoors to avoid accidentally catching beneficial insects like butterflies.
