This single-phase copper electric motor (asynchronous motor) is designed for driving compressors with an intake capacity of up to approximately 450 l/min. With a power output of 2.2 kW, the copper electric motor reaches speeds of 2850 revolutions per minute. The robust housing is made of aluminum.
The run capacitor starts the motor with an electrical capacity of 35 µF. The function of the run capacitor is not only to start the motor but also to ensure smooth power delivery and rotation in the correct direction. If higher power is required, a start capacitor of up to 200 µF can be connected in parallel during the startup phase. Such an increase in total capacity is necessary, for example, for compressors or floor sanding machines. Once the motor is up to speed, the start capacitor is switched off. Additionally, the motor features an integrated overload protection.
The copper electric motor with an IP55 protection rating is suitable for both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. Changing the direction is possible by re-wiring with a separate connection. The shaft has a diameter of 24 mm.
