Innovative monocrystalline solar modules with shingle cell technology. Conventional solar modules use copper connectors to link individual photovoltaic cells together. These thin cell connectors are eliminated in the unique shingle cell solar modules: instead of single cells, narrow cell strips are utilized.
Thanks to the novel cell technology, cell connectors are no longer necessary. The cells are interlocked like roof shingles: the end of one cell is simply connected to the beginning of the next cell using a special polymer-based adhesive that is conductive due to metallic particles. This creates a unique parallel structure that allows for an unobstructed flow of energy. This special design reduces internal losses and increases module performance.
Many of the modules available on the market often face issues with local heat development. The so-called hotspots are a thing of the past with shingle cell technology! The parallel cell strip interconnection not only prevents hotspots but also mitigates shading issues. All these effects contribute to an even longer lifespan of the module and extremely high reliability. With the integrated bypass diodes in the junction box, the module can continue to produce electricity even in shaded or low-light conditions.
