Cyrix Lithium BMS Battery Coupler
The Cyrix Battery Coupler is a high-performance microprocessor-controlled relay that can be used to protect Victron LiFePO4 batteries.
To avoid cell undervoltage, overvoltage, and overheating, all Victron LiFePO4 batteries are equipped with an integrated cell balancing function. This function internally regulates the differences between the cells and informs the external BMS whether to turn the charging or discharging on or off.
- Disconnecting the load in the event of imminent cell undervoltage and
- Disconnecting or reducing the charging current in the event of imminent cell overvoltage, high temperature (>50°C), or low temperature (<0°C).
The core of this protective measure is the VE.Bus BMS or the Small BMS. However, the VE.Bus BMS can only directly instruct VE.Bus devices to interrupt charging or discharging. Other loads or chargers must be controlled externally. This also applies to the Small BMS, which cannot control VE.Bus devices.
To disconnect such loads or chargers, several Cyrix switches that can be controlled by the BMS are available.
