The Tecmate OptiMate Solar DUO 40W 12V Battery Charger and Maintainer (TM-522-D4) is a solar-powered charging solution for 12V lead-acid and 12.8V lithium batteries, commonly used in vehicles, boats, and recreational equipment. This system features a separate charge controller and solar panel, with the controller automatically adjusting the charging parameters based on battery type and condition. The intelligent charge controller employs a multi-stage program that safely fully charges and maintains batteries, utilizing energy-saving technology that converts low solar energy into efficient pulse charging. During daylight hours, the unit charges and maintains the batteries, while at night it monitors the charge state and consumes less than 0.5 mA in monitoring mode. The system can recover deeply discharged batteries from 4V and provides continuous 24/7 maintenance without supervision. The weatherproof polycrystalline solar panel measures 68.6 cm in height, 42 cm in width, and 3.3 cm in depth, with an aluminum frame and four mounting angles. It delivers a maximum output of 40W with an average charging current of 1.67A and pulse currents up to 3-5A. The charge controller automatically switches to charging mode when sufficient solar power is available and features complete electronic protection against short circuits and disconnections. The system comes with a 200 cm output cable with an SAE connector and is compatible with standard, AGM, gel, and lithium LFP batteries ranging from 2 to 240Ah. The charge controller displays the battery charge status every three seconds and provides readiness indicators for different battery types. The maximum distance between the solar panel and the charge controller is 315 cm, with extension cables available for longer installations. The system operates at temperatures down to -20°C and is spark-proof for safe connection to vehicle electronics.
