The SPAX typical drive T-STAR plus is a so-called internal hexagon. This shape increases the contact area of our T-STAR plus, allowing the T-STAR plus bits to fit optimally in the screw head. The best possible power transmission from the driver to the screw through T-STAR plus enables fast work, and it is significantly more efficient than all other drives.
The screws with partial threads are excellent for fastening thin components such as engineered wood panels, boards, or planks to thicker components like timber or beams. The short thread screws into the thick component, while the unthreaded shank remains in the attachment. This creates maximum clamping pressure between the two. The unthreaded part should be at least as thick as the attachment.
The term 4CUT refers to the square shape of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibers during insertion and create space for the screw's core diameter. The spreading pressure exerted by the core in the wood is thus reduced, preventing the wood from splitting near the edges. Additionally, the required torque of the cordless screwdriver is decreased, as the screw's core does not need to "squeeze" into the wood.
