The SPAX-typical T-STAR plus drive is a so-called hexalobular socket. This shape increases the contact surface of our T-STAR plus and the T-STAR plus bits sit perfectly in the screw head. The best possible power transmission from screwdriver to screw thanks to T-STAR plus allows you to work quickly and much more efficiently than with any other drive. Our universal screw with half-round head (panhead) is an example of how screw connections can also look good when required. The spherical screw head with T-STAR plus or Phillips Z drive is suitable for visibly fastening metal fittings to wood, with the underside of the head lying flat against the metal. The WIROX surface matches the colour of the respective silver-coloured metal fittings. In contrast to the partial thread, the full thread extends over the entire length of the screw. The more threads a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from screw to wood. Our fully threaded screws are primarily used for heavy-duty timber joints. The term 4CUT stands for the square shape of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres during the screwing process and create space for the core diameter of the screw. The expansion pressure exerted by the core in the wood is thus reduced and splitting of the wood near the edge is prevented. The required torque of the cordless screwdriver is also reduced, as the core of the screw does not have to "squeeze" into the wood. The abbreviation A2 for our stainless steel screws comes from the alloy of the steel. A2 stainless steel screws offer high protection against corrosion and medium strength. Their resistance to seawater and acids is low. They are therefore used outdoors in areas far from the coast.
