Since 1959, the M61 Vulcan and its derivatives have been a 20 mm 6-barrel Gatling rotary cannon used in many U.S. military aircraft during several wars. It fires standard M50 ammunition at a rate of 6,000 rounds per minute and is an integral part of the armament of modern fighter jets like the F-15, F-18, and F-16.

The SOG Vulcan builds on the reputation of the M61 Vulcan for being fast, powerful, and versatile, and it is also characterized by a robust construction. The Vulcan is anything but weak. For example, our patented Arc-Lock can withstand over 1,000 pounds of force. The full steel liners wrapped in fiberglass-reinforced nylon grips provide the knife with rigidity and durability. The blade has a thickness of 0.160 inches and a drop point shape, featuring a dual thumb stud and a kick for quick, ambidextrous use. Combining user-friendliness and the knife's construction with a durable VG-10 stainless steel blade, this folder is a fantastic addition to the Vulcan name.
