Silky saws are characterized by their special hollow grind (concave) of the saw blade. This means that the blades are thinner in the middle than at the cutting teeth or along the back of the blade. Due to this special grind, the blade does not require tooth setting, as the friction is already reduced by the hollow grind. This results in smooth cutting surfaces with optimal cutting performance.
