It is a evaluation device for gas sensors that change an analog voltage when gas is detected. If necessary, the old GX-A1 can be directly replaced by the new GX-A1+ without altering the installation. All previous connections are in the same positions. It provides visual alerts through flashing display lighting and audible alerts via a loud piezo sound generator. Additionally, a potential-free relay switches to close a magnetic shut-off valve or directly turn off a connected gas boiler. Another relay activates in case of internal technical malfunctions to inform the building management system about the error. Only one gas sensor can be connected to the GX-A1+, and the correct sensor must be selected based on the type of gas and suspected source. Furthermore, the mounting height determines either the sensitivity (carbon dioxide) of the sensor or the choice of the source (natural gas / bottled gas). The installation of the GX-A1+ is remarkably simple. After removing the cover, the base unit with all its connections (screw terminals) for power supply, relay, and sensor is mounted to a wall, the wiring is securely and surface-mounted, the cover electronics are plugged back in, and the device is closed. The backlit 2x 16 character clear text display continuously informs about the system status as well as the condition of the sensor. In the event of an alarm, the sensor voltage is displayed in mV. The SERVICE button allows access to many additional information stored permanently in the warning device, including an alarm counter, the last error code, two temperatures within the device and processor, their maximum values, or simply the software version.
