The galvanized RS Pro lock nuts feature a nylon insert. These nuts are designed to remain secure despite strong vibrations. The nylon insert seals the nut's thread against water leaks, oil, and other liquids. When the appropriate screw is inserted into the nylon insert, the screw's thread compresses the nylon.
