Tapping instructions for male and female threads

To make an internal thread, first drill the core hole of appropriate size. Then clamp the respective tap in the tap wrench and oil it with cutting fluid. The tap should be screwed in straight under light pressure in a clockwise direction. After half a turn, the tap must be turned back each time to break the chip.

To make an external thread, first measure the diameter from the bolt to determine the particular thread size. Then the bolt must be chamfered to a tapered shape with a file. Now insert the die into the die holder and tighten the screw. Now place the cutting iron straight on the bolt and oil it with cutting fluid. Turn the cutter with light pressure on the bolt. Every now and then, the cutting iron should be turned back to break the chips. Turn until the desired thread length is reached.
