I can only answer half of the question that the Hombli Socket cannot be used to control the brightness of dimmable lamps.
Dimming not possible; only two states possible: On / Off
The product is only suitable for indoor use and not for outdoor sockets, even if these are covered. This is clearly confirmed by the specification "Application area: Indoor".
You can operate the Hombli smart socket without a plan. It is controlled via the free Hombli app and there are no monthly subscription costs. Without a subscription, you can use all the functions that are available via the app, such as switching devices on and off, monitoring power consumption and voice control via Google Assistant or Alexa. There are no restrictions in functionality that would be cancelled by a plan.
Hello, it works in 2.4 only. You don't need an extra device to make it work. All you need is an initial connection from your phone via Alexa or Siri and you're ready to go. See also the manufacturer's website. You can also link it with Tuya Smart. Enjoy the rest
There is no local API. Only laboriously via Tuya Cloud with a developer account. Then it works with Home Assistant, for example. Or you can replace the module with an ESP82xx module ;-)
I contacted hombli (the manufacturer) a few days ago. The current power consumption can be measured on the Hombli app and used as automation.

Yes, I have connected the coffee machine and coffee grinder with a double plug (for space reasons). Individual control is then of course not possible, all appliances are ON. Or OFF.
