No, I wouldn't. The adhesive strips must otherwise stick to the net and I assume that it won't stick well (to the net) that way. However, if you like to tinker and find a way to solve the fastening problem, you can cut it to size. I'm lucky enough to be able to attach it further away from the door frame.
