The frame is made of solid, nickel-plated square steel. The hacksaw, with its distinctive saw frame, features saw blades tensioned in a U-shaped frame. The limitation in cutting depth for hand hacksaws represents the distance to the frame. This design allows for the use of particularly thin saw blades, which would bend in other saw types during both-sided or non-pulling cutting movements. Thanks to the thin hand saw blades, the machining work is reduced due to the minimal cutting width. Thus, this type of saw represents the classic standard for hand saws in metalworking.
