Advantages of torque-free and tension-free wire ropes:
1. The strands of the ropes are pre-formed. Cut ropes maintain their position without the need for binding at the cut interface.
2. Since all strands are evenly stretched, the load is distributed uniformly across all individual wires in the rope.
3. The ropes have a low tendency to form kinks.
4. The unloaded wire rope is tension-free, as the wires have no pre-load. Therefore, the ropes show little tendency to twist under load.
5. The ropes are characterized by exceptional flexibility.
6. Torque-free and tension-free ropes have a significantly increased lifespan compared to standard wire ropes.

Load Capacity Calculation:
The load capacity of the wire ropes is calculated from the minimum breaking force. This is divided by the safety factor required for the specific application.

Load Capacity = Minimum Breaking Force / 6 (Safety Factor)

Construction:
A wire rope consists of a number of strands, which in turn consist of a number of wires, e.g.: 7 x 7 -> 7 strands with 7 wires each
