Sound Level Meter PCE-428

The PCE-428 sound level meter is a Class II sound level measuring device with octave filter and 1/3 octave filter for frequency analysis. It features a USB interface, a data logger, and A-, B-, C-, and Z-weighting. Additionally, it offers the capability for fast, slow, and impulse analysis.

This device is ideally suited for measurements in workplaces, construction sites, road traffic, airports, and more. The sound level meter is equipped with an octave band frequency filter and can optionally be upgraded with a 1/3 octave band filter. In addition to the numerical display of the measurement value, a graph can illustrate the sound level trend.

The sound level meter provides various frequency weightings such as A, B, C, and Z. Furthermore, it can display measurements with time weightings Fast, Slow, Impulse, and Peak. The measurement range extends from 25 to 136 dBA at a frequency of 20 Hz to 12.5 kHz. Three different measurement profiles can be stored, allowing the user to choose which parameters to capture, such as Laeq, LcPeak, LaFmax, or LaFMin.

The peak hold function allows for capturing and freezing the maximum sound pressure level on the display during long-term measurements. A 24-bit ADC and specially developed electronics reduce self-noise to a very low level. Sampling of the measurement signal at more than 48 kHz ensures high accuracy and improved stability of the measurement values.
