A roughness test stand is designed to facilitate the execution of roughness measurements. For measuring roughness, it is important that both the roughness measuring device and the surface to be tested are positioned horizontally. The probe tip then moves in a straight line across the surface of the workpiece. With a roughness test stand, the measuring device or its sensor can be positioned to ensure the required orientation for accurate measurement. It is particularly recommended to use a roughness test stand when measuring low roughness or curved components, or in grooves with special test tips. The height positioning of the measuring device is precisely adjusted to the respective test piece via a spindle with a hand crank on this roughness test stand. Due to the large travel range, many different component sizes can be tested on a work table or bench in the laboratory without additional fixtures. The roughness test stand is suitable for attaching various roughness gauges.
