Digital AdBlue Refractometer PCE-DRU 1 Urea and Refractive Index / IP65 Housing / with Temperature Compensation

Information about the AdBlue Refractometer: AdBlue, a mixture of distilled water and synthetic urea, is used in the automotive industry as a diesel additive. It is employed to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions and to meet legally mandated emission standards. The digital AdBlue refractometer from PCE Instruments has been specifically designed to conduct precise analysis of the urea solution. This allows the user to carry out straightforward quality control, check the urea concentration of the AdBlue diesel additive, and determine whether the solution meets the requirements of the automotive industry.

The AdBlue refractometer is a precision measuring device that relies on measuring the refractive index of a liquid, ensuring the highest reliability even under challenging measurement conditions. With just a small sample, the user can measure the urea concentration in a liquid using the AdBlue refractometer. To obtain a meaningful result, it is sufficient to place a few drops of AdBlue into the stainless steel well of the device. A prism is embedded in the sample well, and the urea content is measured through light refraction. The integrated light source in the digital AdBlue refractometer prevents measurement errors that can quickly occur with an analog AdBlue refractometer due to artificial light. The device internally compensates for temperature influences during use. The measurement result is quickly and accurately displayed on the large, easy-to-read LC display of the AdBlue refractometer after this automatic temperature compensation (10 to 40 °C).
