Product details

Digital Refractometer PCE-DRP 1 for coffee with rapid and precise measurement results. The waterproof ABS housing has an IP 65 protection rating and a large LCD display. The PCE-DRP 1 coffee refractometer can measure the concentration of transparent or dissolved substances in a liquid. A liquid solution is illuminated, and the light is refracted or reflected along the way. Depending on the concentration of the substances, the light behaves differently, allowing for the determination of a concentration value. In espresso and coffee, the aroma is extracted from the ground beans, leading to varying densities in the coffee solution. The PCE-DRP 1 refractometer displays the value in Brix % on the digital screen.

Applications: Millions of people cannot imagine starting their day without a good cup of coffee. The word "good" is of utmost importance. Coffee is known worldwide, and there are countless varieties. Cafés, shops, restaurants, and even the coffee-to-go shop around the corner strive to offer customers the best possible product. To get closer to the goal of creating the "perfect" coffee, the coffee refractometer was developed. With such a coffee refractometer, the caffeine content as well as the total dissolved solids (TDS) in a beverage can be determined. The coffee refractometer provides a scientific approach involving smart devices and is as easy to use as brewing a cup of coffee. The displayed values help manufacturers quickly assess whether the recipe used is already perfect or needs improvement, and whether the proportion of coffee beans, water, or sugar should be adjusted.
