Product details

The hardness tester PCE-2000N from PCE Instruments operates according to the Leeb rebound method. This is a dynamic hardness testing procedure in which a standardized test body, usually a carbide ball, is struck with defined impact energy against a test surface. The impact of the carbide ball on the test surface causes a plastic deformation at the point of impact. This deformation results in an energy loss that is proportional to the workpiece hardness and can be determined by the ratio of the rebound to impact velocity of the test body. This technology allows for a compact design, making it particularly suitable for the hardness tester. Unlike static testing methods with heavy hardness testing machines, a portable hardness tester can be used very flexibly in incoming or outgoing goods inspection, in production, and in general in all areas where hardness affects quality parameters. With the hardness testing device from PCE Instruments, six different hardness scales (HL, HV, HRA, HRC, HB, HS) and ten different materials can be measured. The hardness tester is supplied as standard with a D impact device, but additional impact bodies (DC, DL, C, D+15, E, G) can also be connected for more specialized applications. Furthermore, data can be stored directly on a USB stick, further enhancing the flexibility of this portable hardness tester. Thanks to a highly readable OLED display, a long standby time, a compact housing, and a symbol-based menu navigation, the operation of the portable hardness tester is extremely user-friendly.
