Information about the Ultrasound Echo-Echo Material Thickness Gauge

The Ultrasound Echo-Echo Material Thickness Gauge from PCE Instruments is suitable for measuring the wall thickness of homogeneous materials such as metals, plastics, glasses, or resins using ultrasound in a measurement range of 0.65 to 600 mm. With a maximum resolution of 0.001 mm, even very small differences in wall thickness can be measured. For accurate measurement, the correct sound velocity of the material to be measured must be set in advance on the Ultrasound Echo-Echo Material Thickness Gauge.

In the PCE-TG 300-NO7 material thickness gauge, the sound velocity can be varied in increments of 1 m/s, and multi-point calibration is also possible. If the sound velocity of the material is unknown, it can also be determined using the Echo-Echo Material Thickness Gauge. If the thickness of the workpiece is known, it must be entered into the material thickness gauge.

Application of the Ultrasound Echo-Echo Material Thickness Gauge PCE-TG 300-NO7: After the ultrasound sensor is placed on the workpiece, the sound velocity of the material is displayed directly. The measurement values are shown on a large LCD color display, with easy navigation possible via quick selection buttons. Measurement values can be stored in the internal memory of the Echo-Echo wall thickness gauge. For analysis, this data can either be evaluated using the optionally available PC software or printed directly via Bluetooth to a printer.

The functionality of the Echo-Echo wall thickness gauge can be expanded with optionally available probes. Probes with 2.5 MHz, 5 MHz, and 7 MHz frequencies and different diameters are available, allowing for the measurement of not only homogeneous standard materials but also highly damping materials such as castings or plastics, as well as thin-walled components.
