Additionally, the auger bit features a centering tip, enabling very precise centering of the drill. The auger is designed with a pull-in thread at the centering tip, which draws the bit into the wood, reducing the amount of pressure needed while drilling. The presence of a pilot cutter also ensures a clean and tear-free edge at low speeds. Furthermore, the auger bit excels in chip removal. It is suitable for drilling through holes in beams and rafters, as well as for creating deep blind holes. A taper from 1:50 to 1:100 towards the shank is designed to prevent binding in the hole.
