This threading device can be used on pillar drilling machines with an MK3 tool holder. The mechanics of the device ensure that the direction of rotation of the clamped tap reverses when idle. Only when the tap engages with the workpiece does the friction in the coupling of the threading device set the tap's rotation direction to match that of the work spindle. When pressure is removed from the spindle, the direction reversal resumes. At the top of the threading device, there is a knurled adjustment ring with a reference scale for stepless pre-setting of the torque. A general machining tip is that threads with a large diameter should be cut with high torque, while threads with a small diameter should be cut with low torque. A screw-in stop is included in the delivery.
