The Oerlikon SPECIAL stick electrode is a highly developed, basic-coated double-sheathed electrode known for its exceptional welding properties. It combines non-basic components that allow for remarkable arc stability. This electrode is particularly suitable for root welding and constrained positions, making it an ideal choice for demanding welding applications in steel construction, industry, as well as in craftsmanship and pipeline construction. The glass-like slag produced during application can be easily removed, facilitating the post-processing of weld seams. Additionally, the electrode offers high cold toughness down to -30 °C and is X-ray safe, underscoring its reliability in critical applications. For flawless alternating current welding, the open circuit voltage should be at least 65 V. This electrode is also available in vacuum packaging that requires no re-drying.
