Knuchel Durox

Durox is a highly effective rust stabilizer based on tannic acid for the pretreatment of rusted metal surfaces. Durox rust converter forms highly effective, bluish-colored iron complex salts with rust and the metal substrate, leading to a densification of the metal surface. This largely prevents the ingress of water and atmospheric oxygen, thereby significantly slowing down further rusting. With the addition of rust inhibitors that further passivate the metal, as well as film formers that enhance temporary protection, Durox creates an adhesion bridge for subsequent coatings. Durox can also be applied at low temperatures and can be painted onto still damp iron.
