By moving the attached lever tube back and forth, two pairs of clamping jaws alternately move the rope through the device. The rope length (pulling distance) is practically unlimited. The mechanism is self-locking; the loaded rope pulls the clamping jaws together. The unloaded winch can be released, allowing the rope to be manually inserted and tensioned, and pulled out again after the work is completed.
