Product details

The superior free-area reflector technology (hence the name FF) offers good light performance even with smaller reflector surfaces.

What does the reference number indicate?

The reference number (Ref.) indicates the maximum light intensity a headlight can deliver. With the reference number, one can quickly and easily determine the power of a headlight. The reference number is derived from the conversion of the maximum light intensity in candelas. It is dimensionless - meaning it has no unit of measurement. Two high beam headlights with a reference number of 17.5 each result in a combined reference number of 35 on the vehicle.

Is a low or high reference number better? High beams with a low reference number emit light broadly but not as far as high beams with a high reference number. Therefore, high beams with a high reference number are ideal for long, straight stretches, while winding areas, such as in the mountains, are better illuminated with a low reference number.

Please observe the legal regulations in your country and check whether the ECE regulation that has been in effect since 2009 applies to you. In some countries, only a maximum total high beam of 100 (reference value), meaning the sum of all high beam headlights on the vehicle, is allowed to be activated.
