The Grothe Bell Transformer GTN 3148 is specifically designed for use with bells, gongs, chimes, and door openers in residential areas, where it operates for short periods. In contrast, safety transformers are designed for continuous and permanent operation. Grothe's bell and safety transformers are equipped with a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) that protects the transformer on the primary side in case of short circuits or overloads.

When the PTC is triggered due to an overload or short circuit, the transformer is temporarily disconnected from the voltage for at least 1 minute to allow for a restart afterward. All our transformers meet the strictest environmental protection requirements and have been tested and certified according to EN61558.

Note: At low load or idle, a higher output voltage occurs! After a short circuit, restart by briefly disconnecting the primary side from the mains. (Exception: GT 50810)
