For kitchen operations with fryers up to 50 liters in capacity, the DGUV (Regulation GUV-R111) mandates the use of at least one fire extinguisher proven suitable for extinguishing cooking oil and fat fires, with a preferred capacity of 6 liters.

It is recommended to practice using a fire blanket in a precautionary manner for emergencies without fire, according to the instructions. Improper handling poses a risk of burns.
