Gira Area line coupler

Area or line couplers for KNX connect two KNX lines, segments, or areas data-wise and ensure galvanic isolation between them. It can operate as an area coupler, line coupler, segment coupler, or amplifier. Using it as a segment coupler allows for the expansion of a line with additional line segments, with a configurable filter table. Filter functions for group telegrams and physically addressed telegrams can be configured separately in the ETS. Manual operation allows for the disabling of filter functions, separately for group telegrams and physically addressed telegrams. The current operating mode and the status of the filter functions are indicated by multicolored status LEDs. Encrypted and unencrypted telegrams can be filtered, forwarded, and blocked independently of commissioning as a KNX Data Secure product. The Secure Proxy enables the connection of an unencrypted and an encrypted line, for example, between a building and the outdoor area, or when using two devices to create a Secure Bridge between two unencrypted lines. The functionality as a Secure Proxy is automatically set in ETS6 after secure commissioning using a device certificate. The planning and commissioning of the device is possible from ETS 5 version 5.7.7 when used as an area coupler, line coupler, or amplifier. With ETS 6 from version 6.1.0 (recommended), it is additionally possible to use it as a segment coupler or Secure Proxy. The device is KNX Data Secure compatible. Firmware updates are possible with the Gira ETS Service App. Connection and branching terminals for KNX are included in the delivery.
