Martens often use downpipes as a climbing aid. With the Gardigo Marten Defense Belt, you can now block their way up. Act before martens wreak havoc in attics, leaving dirt and food scraps behind. The modular design of the Marten Defense Belt allows you to customize the length according to the pipe diameter. Although the long spikes give the downpipe belt a fierce appearance, it is essentially just a climbing barrier that makes it difficult for them to ascend. For larger pipe diameters, the belt can also be supplemented with additional sets.

Martens are nocturnal animals and flexible in their diet. Houses, barns in cities and villages, as well as warm places like garages or engine rooms, are among the preferred habitats of martens, where they can cause significant damage. If a marten makes its home in your attic, the night quickly turns into day; the rodents scratch and rummage through everything that isn't firmly anchored. Flower pots are emptied and overturned, and even chickens are no longer safe.

Especially in cities, where houses are built close together and there are few hiding places for martens, they often choose engine rooms as a warm resting spot. Martens can cause considerable damage to cars by gnawing on fuel, brake, hydraulic lines, or ignition cables. A marten leaves scent marks, which other martens react to aggressively, leading them to chew on cables and lines. The problems of chewed cables often arise during relocations to another marten territory or at territory boundaries. The mating season begins at the end of June, which is why territorial fights peak in May, making male martens particularly aggressive during this time.
