Product details

The Forgefix Nyloc hex nuts are made from stainless A2 steel and feature a nylon component to effectively secure the nut onto the screw. The nylon part has a smaller inner diameter than the actual nut, which allows the nut to be fixed in place as the nylon is tightly compressed around the screw when tightened. Unlike a standard locking washer, the Nyloc nut prevents loosening due to vibrations, as the nylon is firmly wedged into the bolt thread and provides resistance against turning when tightened. Its hexagonal shape is designed to be driven with a wrench, delivering excellent torque. Stainless steel does not corrode, rust, or stain like regular steel. However, despite its name, it is not completely stain-free, especially in low oxygen environments, high salinity, or poor circulation. Stainless steel is used when both the properties of steel and corrosion resistance are required. Application: Where a permanent fastening is needed and loosening due to movement or vibration must be prevented. It can be used for most screw products, including HT screws, lock screws, threaded rods, etc.
