These hex nuts and washers are made from stainless A2 steel. The hexagonal shape of the nut is designed to be driven with a wrench, providing excellent torque. Stainless steel does not corrode, rust, or stain like ordinary steel, but despite its name, it is not completely stain-free, especially in low oxygen environments, high salinity, or poor circulation. Stainless steel is used where both the properties of steel and corrosion resistance are required.
