Description
The Flax membrane is the best example of Focal's expertise. The membrane is lightweight, rigid, and optimally damped—essential elements for an ideal speaker driver. Manufactured in Focal's production facilities, high-quality French flax is embedded between two thin layers of fiberglass for this membrane. This lightweight sandwich is characterized by a natural sound without coloration, as well as rich reproduction in the midrange and precise bass beats. Flax Evo delivers further innovations such as the new TAM tweeter: derived from the state-of-the-art tweeter of the Utopia M series, the inverted dome with M-profile provides a wider dispersion angle. The patented Tuned-Mass-Damper (TMD) surround is used in all speaker components and helps to reduce unwanted resonances, enabling clean, neutral midrange reproduction with very low distortion.
