The NL5cx Idun features a blade made of Cowry X Damascus steel. This is likely the best blade steel in the world across all categories and definitely one of the most exclusive blades ever produced. The blade is made from a powder steel with the following extreme compositions: C 3%, Cr 20%, Mo 1%, V 0.3%, and iron making up 100%. Its hardness is no less than 64 HRC. The sides are made of 120-layer stainless Damascus steel. The knife is an excellent tool for everyone, but most customers will likely purchase it for its exclusive collector's value. The handle is made from specially selected cowhide leather: unfortunately, a material often overlooked by manufacturers, but it provides a secure and robust grip. It ages beautifully and develops an attractive brown patina over the years. It is resistant to oil and solvents and impervious to water. Dryness can lead to small cracks in the handle, which disappear when the knife is used again. Anyone familiar with knife making knows that such a blade can only be produced by hand, which is why 99.99% of all knives do not have such a blade. Knives, in general, are naturally mass-produced, with CNC robots and grinding machines shaping the blades as well as possible.
