The Eltako Gateway FGW14-IP is a gateway with an IP interface for the 14 series of electricity meters via WLAN or LAN. The standby loss is only 0.8 watts. It is a modular device designed for mounting on a DIN rail according to DIN-EN 60715 TH35.
The device is 1 modular unit (18 mm wide, 58 mm deep) and must be integrated into a WLAN or LAN. The WLAN connection uses the 2.4 GHz frequency band, while the LAN connection is made via an RJ45 connector with 10/100Base-T.
It is connected to the Eltako RS485 bus, and the cross-wiring of the bus and power supply is done with a jumper. Operation is possible in conjunction with FAM14 or FTS14KS. The hold terminal is connected to the FAM14 or FTS14KS.
The IP connection is made via LAN or WLAN. The gateway transmits data from any Eltako electricity meters on the RS485 bus using the MQTT protocol. The data is transferred from the RS485 bus to an external MQTT broker.
The data is encoded according to the EnOcean over IP format. Configurations and updates are performed via a web interface. A REST API is available through the online product page of the device.
