The alarm module can receive signals from all Ei Electronics smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide detectors equipped with radio modules. When an alarm signal is received, the strobe light begins to flash for visual alerting. At the same time, the vibrating cushion vibrates strongly, and the red LED indicator blinks. This way, hearing-impaired or deaf individuals can be safely and reliably warned of dangerous smoke from a fire. By pressing the integrated test button, the strobe light and vibrating cushion are activated and checked for functionality. The unit also transmits a radio signal that activates all other radio-connected components within the system. To connect additional alarm components, such as strobe lights, vibrating cushions, or pagers, the Ei170RF alarm module has two additional outputs that are also automatically activated as soon as an alarm signal is received. Furthermore, the Ei170RF features a signal input for clocks/alarm systems. The vibrating cushion is triggered by the alarm. Unlike a real or test alarm, the cushion vibrates continuously. The strobe light is not activated.
