The compact housing measures only 123 mm and houses a brushless motor with an output of 406 Nm. The tool weighs 1.1 kg without the battery and features a rubberized handle for extra grip. The DCF923 has four operating modes for optimal speed and torque settings. Gears 1 and 2 are standard low and high gears, while gears 3 and 4 are designed for precision and wood screw applications.

The precision screwdriver mode offers high control when tightening, stopping for 0.5 seconds when the impact torque is reached, and then operating at speeds of up to 3550 rpm to control the tightening process and reduce the risk of thread breakage. In reverse, maximum torque is available from the start, but the unit limits reverse rotation to prevent fasteners from stripping.

The wood screw mode is designed for fastening wood, optimizing and speeding up the driving of screws. LED lighting is useful in dark areas, with the light ring controlled by a special button. The DCF923 impact wrench is compatible with all XR 18V Li-Ion, FlexVolt, and PowerStack batteries.
