The compact housing measures only 123 mm and houses a brushless motor with a torque of 406 Nm. The tool weighs 1.1 kg without the battery and features a rubberized grip for added hold. The DCF923 offers four operating modes for optimal speed and torque settings. Gears 1 and 2 are the standard low and high gears, while gears 3 and 4 are designed for precise applications and wood screws.

The precision screw mode provides high control during tightening, stopping for 0.5 seconds when the torque is reached, and then operates at speeds of up to 3550 RPM to control the tightening process and reduce the risk of thread breakage. In reverse, the maximum torque is available from the start, but the device limits the reverse rotation to prevent fastener stripping.

The wood screw mode is designed for fastening wood and optimizes and accelerates the driving of screws. The LED lighting is useful in dark areas, with the light circle controlled by a special button. The DCF923 impact wrench is compatible with all XR 18V Li-Ion, FlexVolt, and PowerStack batteries.
