Defender® MIDI 5 2D Blu Modular System for Wheelchair Ramps

To ensure optimal wheelchair access, the modular cable bridge Defender® MIDI 5 has been developed based on our popular Defender® MIDI cable bridge. It consists of a central section compatible with MIDI and a flat ramp, which can be expanded and combined in any way, both in length and width. It offers extremely simple handling. The central section is a half version with a blue cover.

The issue of accessibility has increasingly come into focus for event organizers and authorities in recent years. With conventional cable bridge systems, a compromise often had to be made between barrier-free access and drivability. The new Defender® MIDI 5 2D HV changes this: a completely driveable and simultaneously barrier-free ramp with a 6° incline is attached to each central section. The gentle slope makes it easy for wheelchair users to cross, and it is stable enough to be driven over by forklifts and trucks. The system can be expanded in length and width as needed. Effortless walkability and safety are thus ensured even in areas where five channels are insufficient, such as near power generators or the FOH. Audio, lighting, and power cables can be laid out individually, easily, and safely.

The completely symmetrical design of the central sections simplifies assembly, and you will never have to search for the right attachment again. Detailed assembly plans are also not required. Thanks to this symmetry, optimal stability in both longitudinal and transverse directions can be achieved by arranging central sections and ramps in a half-bond configuration, while avoiding losses such as adapters and connectors. The connections are designed to provide enough play for easy assembly while still offering sufficient stability.
