The blade-less cable knife is designed for slitting and stripping wet area cables. It is a 2-component tool with a textured soft grip insert for optimal handling and a thumb recess for diameters of 8 - 28 mm. Both the tips of the internal cable knives and the edges of the attached blade are titanium nitride coated. At approximately 500 degrees Celsius, the cutting blade is vapor-deposited with titanium nitride in a vacuum chamber using the PVD process. The reduced surface structure and extremely high hardness provide excellent gliding properties as well as high wear and abrasion resistance. TiN-coated knives can be used with significantly higher durability and cutting performance.
