It is easy to handle and very quick to install. The Fleet series is a cost-effective alternative to all steel sheet cabinets. Steel cabinets are often expensive to purchase and have a high weight, which can lead to increased logistical effort and handling challenges. In many cases, steel cabinets can be avoided in EMC-critical applications. The Fleet series cabinets from Boxexpert provide a budget-friendly plastic alternative. The wall cabinet housing is made from very lightweight acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS), resulting in a weight reduction of about 50% for the same cabinet size. Despite the lower mass, the Fleet series housing proves to be a robust alternative with an impact resistance of IK08. ABS plastic has a high resistance to alkalis, oils, and salts. Unlike metal cabinets, the Fleet series has the advantage of being resistant to corrosive stresses without the need for additional surface coatings. The use in outdoor environments requires effective sealing of the electronic components against external influences. The plastic housings of the Fleet series feature a foamed polyurethane (PU) seal. The PUR seal is low-wear and robust against weathering and aging. Polyurethane also remains elastic and resilient even with frequent operation of the cabinet door. In addition to the properties of ABS plastic, the housing seal ensures a protection rating of IP65.
