This frequently leads to additional effort in both logistics and handling. In many cases, metal cabinets can be avoided in EMC-critical applications. The Fleet series cabinets from Boxexpert offer a cost-effective alternative made of plastic. The wall cabinet housing is made of very lightweight acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS), resulting in a weight reduction of about 50% for the same housing size. Despite the lower mass, the Fleet housing series proves to be a robust alternative with an impact resistance of IK08. ABS plastic exhibits high resistance to alkalis, oils, and salts. Unlike metal cabinets, the Fleet series has the advantage of being resistant to corrosive stresses without requiring additional coating of the housing surface. The use in outdoor areas particularly necessitates effective sealing of the electronic components against external influences. The plastic housings of the Fleet series feature a foamed seal made of polyurethane (PU). The PUR seal is low-wear and robust against weathering and aging. Polyurethane also remains elastic and resilient even with frequent operation of the cabinet door. In addition to the properties of ABS plastic, the housing seal ensures an enclosure protection rating of IP65. This makes the housing suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The Boxexpert Fleet series cabinets have a swing door, available in either gray or transparent.
