The 3M Peltor Optime Test Cushions for earmuffs feature a specially designed probe tube that allows for an individual fit testing for employees wearing the 3M Peltor Optime Series earmuffs. The test cushions easily snap into the 3M Peltor X Series earmuffs (sold separately) to enable testing with the 3M E-A-Rfit Dual-Ear Validation System.

The closed system provides a "Pass" or "Fail" assessment based on the personal attenuation rating (PAR) of the employee when wearing the 3M Peltor X Series earmuffs. With these cushions for the 3M Peltor X Series earmuffs, users can determine the level of protection provided by the earmuffs in use. Employees can present their 3M Peltor X Series earmuffs used at the workplace, have the user remove the cushions for testing, replace them with the appropriate test cushions, and perform a fit test.

The 3M E-A-Rfit Dual-Ear Validation System measures how effectively the hearing protection protects the employee using the test cushion in their ear and provides accurate quantitative results. These test cushions are intended for use in the system only and are not suitable as hearing protection. They are reusable and can be maintained and cleaned with 3M Peltor hygiene wipes.
