What is the minimum wheelbase, i.e. how small can a children's bike be so that it can be mounted?

The buckles are 55cm apart, so I was told that children's bikes with a wheelbase of 75cm or more could be fitted.
Unfortunately I don't have such small bikes to try. The smallest I have fitted without any problems had a wheelbase of 90cm.

We have a 16-inch Early Rider Hellion with a 72cm wheelbase and that just about works. A smaller distance will be difficult.
