Bosch eBike Compact 2 Ampere BCS230
E-bike charger
Is this battery charger any good for travelling? I'm asking because when I read that it has a charging time of 7.5 hours for 500W, then I can only charge 6.7% on the go during a 30-minute lunch break! - That's very little. Has anyone used the charger on the road and thought that it hardly charges at all? Even charging for 1 hour would only give the battery 13% - in my opinion a charger for travelling should charge quickly? So would the 4A be better suited for travelling, although 200g heavier? 6.7% is enough for about 6km - a bit low for a bike ride. What are your experiences? Thank you
Hi there,
I bought this charger because it's lighter and more compact, given that the charge is "slow".
It's useful when you don't have much 230V power available, e.g. 12V --> 230V converter for a car limited to 100-120W (10A) or a shed... and you can leave it charging.
It consumes ~75W compared with ~150W for the BCS220-4A.
There's 1 BCS250 6A fast charger at 189.- ! but that's at the expense of battery life.
Best regards
