Is there a live map update when I buy this product or do I have to buy the latest maps?

TopoActive Europ" from Garmin can be installed via Garmin Express. I believe there is an annual update. I use the maps from OSM "Open Street Map" myself. Here the update is quarterly and individual countries or regions can be installed. Very detailed. An additional memory card is certainly useful.
