Hello, this should actually fit. The bracket or the fastening ring consists of two components (half a ring each), which you have to put on top of each other before screwing them together and can thus position them accordingly. Therefore, you should be able to thread the fastening ring under the brake cable. You need at least 3 mm of clearance between the rod and the brake cable. If you have this, it should work fine. If you don't (e.g. because the cable is installed in a hose/rubber), it could be tight.
