Can thin soups also be poured into the pot? Or is there something to consider?

I wouldn't put soup in it either. the pump is heavy enough to push down. It could get clogged.

For keeping water warm: unbeatable! Stays hot for a very long time. I would not recommend soup. At most bouillon and even this I would still sieve. The pump could clog and I don't know if it can be dismantled.
